Larian Studios announced the early access date for the much-awaited Baldur’s Gate 3 on September 30 after missing the August deadline.
From the creators of the Divinity: Original Sin series, Larian Studios gave fans a preview of the gameplay in their live stream this week.
Creative director Swen Vincke also said that the early access content for Baldur’s Gate 3 would be more than double compared to Act 1 of Divinity: Original Sin 2.
In addition, Vincke also mentioned that the game would be out PC and Stadia as they try to optimize the minimum system requirements so that more players can have a chance to try the game out once it comes out.
Massive content from monsters to character dialogues
Since the game revolves around the Dungeons & Dragons universe, expect a rich storyline. With D&D still widely popular today, the developers also invited in D&D veteran Chris Perkins to join in the live stream.
Early access will have over 20 hours worth of content with plenty of dialogues and monsters to explore. It will also have a multiplayer as well as a split-screen feature that could be added during the game’s development.
If you’re looking for the exact numbers, Larian mentioned 45,980 lines of English dialogue, 596 characters, plus 146 spells and actions as well as 80 combat situations for early access.
In addition, they also showed off a Stadia feature in Baldur’s Gate 3 called Crowd Choice, where viewers can vote for the next event that should happen while a streamer plays the game.
A level 4 early access cap enough to keep fans hooked
In the live stream, the developers also mentioned that players start at Avernus, which is the first layer of the nine hells in the D&D universe.
