Scarlet Nexus’ Yuito Sumeragi was recently put on display, as developer Bandai Namco gave gamers an overview of the new hero’s background.
The official Scarlet Nexus Twitter account just dropped a bunch of information about the upcoming game’s main character, revealing some of the protagonist’s backstory through a series of tweets.
Developer and publisher Bandai Namco posted the character spotlight following the release of an action-packed gameplay trailer that also featured a small portion of a beautiful anime-style animated cut-scene.
Yuito Sumeragi – Unlocked
According to Bandai Namco’s trail of Twitter posts, Scarlet Nexus’ protagonist Yuito Sumeragi just recently joined the Other Suppression Force (OSF) as a new recruit, and is known as a “bright and positive-minded boy with a resilient mind.”
Yuito’s motivation for joining the OSF revolves around an incident where he was saved by a member of the group, prompting him to follow in his savior’s footsteps.
The young hero is the second-born son of the Sumeragi house—a distinguished family who founded the city of New Himuka—while his father is currently serving as the leader of the government. Yuito’s older brother is also a part of the OSF, though he has opted for a more bureaucratic role.
It is unknown if his psychokinesis power is connected to his strong desires to help others or if his powers come from his family's long history. [5/5]

Yuito’s defining traits are his ability to utilize psychokinesis to combat enemies called “Others,” in addition to his uncanny adaptability on the battlefield.
The origin behind the fiery protagonist’s psychokinesis remains a mystery, although speculations suggest that it either comes from his innate love of helping people or through his family’s superior genetics.
Scarlet Nexus is the first confirmed next-gen JRPG
Bandai Namco unveiled their upcoming action-RPG just last month, during Microsoft’s Inside Xbox online event. Scarlet Nexus was part of the Xbox Series X’s video game showcase and was shown running on the next-gen console.
This had some gamers believing that the anime-inspired slash em up would be an Xbox Series X exclusive, though the developers have since clarified that that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Despite being also slated for current-gen release, Scarlet Nexus remains the first confirmed Japanese Role-Playing Game headed to next-generation consoles. The devs have yet to set a release date or window so far, making it difficult to figure out if the game will be part of the next-gen launch lineup.
