Barbra Streisand just helped George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter, Gianna, become a Disney stockholder.
It was recently revealed that Barbra Streisand purchased Disney stocks and gave it as a gift to George Floyd’s daughter.
The singer’s generosity came to light when Gianna Floyd updated her social media page with photos showing her gift package.
Stocks for Gianna
In her Instagram update, the child posted photos of herself holding a certificate that proves she now owns stocks in Disney. The girl captioned the post with her message of gratitude.
“Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package,” Gianna wrote. “I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you.”
According to BBC News, shares in Disney are valued at $115 today and this was higher before the COVID-19 hit as the trade was around $150.
Thus, although it is not clear how many shares the singer purchased for Gianna, these will surely serve her well in the future.
Barbra Streisand also gave the child two of her most popular music records that were released in 1965 and 1966. These are the “My Name Is Barbra” and “Color Me Barbra” albums.
Barbra Streisand’s gifts were given to Gianna not long after Kanye West set up a fund to pay for her college tuition.
Kim Kardashian’s husband arranged the 529 college plan for George Floyd’s daughter’s education in the future, as per Variety.
The outpouring of blessings for George Floyd’s child
There’s more for Gianna as she was also offered a full scholarship to Texas Southern University. The school made the offer in honor of George Floyd who grew up in Houston, Texas.
“The Board of Regents of Texas Southern University (TSU) honors the memory of George Floyd on the day that he is laid to eternal rest,” the official statement from the university reads. “Mr. Floyd was a lifelong citizen of the Third Ward and a revered graduate of Jack Yates High School. The Board, in conjunction with the TSU Foundation Board, has approved a fund to provide a full scholarship for Floyd’s beloved daughter, Gianna.”
The 6-year-old recipient of these precious gifts from people she doesn’t even know made her happier as she feels loved.
Gianna is being looked after by many people following her father George Floyd’s passing. He brutally died in the hands of the police and his nonsense death sparked a worldwide protest last month.
The support for #BlackLivesMatter also soared as people protest racial discrimination, police brutality, and injustice.
