Developer DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 will use AI bots to fill up the online servers to provide a great multiplayer mode.
On EA’s website, DICE shared the information regarding how AI bots work in Battlefield 2042.
‘Battlefield 2042’ and its AI bots
While posting the Electronic Arts’ website, the developer mentioned the AI players in the multiplayer mode.
Battlefield 2042 will support 128 players on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. While on the Xbox One and PS4, it will only support 64 players.
Since there is no campaign in the upcoming title, the only way you can play it is through multiplayer mode.
“As a multiplayer-only experience, it’s important for us to let you play Battlefield 2042 when and how you want,” said DICE.
Keeping this in mind, the AI soldiers will fill up the servers during an online match. Thus, it will ensure that the battles remain full.
In co-op mode, you can play together with friends against the AI soldiers. On the other hand, when you are solo, you will face 127 bots at a given time.
The iconic, traditional modes will also return with Battlefield 2042, namely Breakthrough and Conquest. They will show up under the All-Out Warfare banner.
A new, squad-based mode called Hazard zone will also make a debut. However, it won’t be a battle royale.
Interestingly, another undisclosed mode is yet to be revealed during the next month’s EA Play event. However, DICE LA is working on that.
