Bayonetta 3 is “progressing well”, says Nintendo execs

Bayonetta 3 is still alive and “progressing well”, as a Nintendo exec insists that the game is well into development even if it’s missing from recent showcases.

In an interview, Nintendo of America’s execs were quick to assure that Bayonetta 3 is on its way. Even if it was absent in the last Nintendo Direct, the game is alive and well.

Bayonetta development going well

Bayonetta is among the most awaited franchises this year. Over the past week, fans of the game were expecting some sort of update from Platinum Games. Nothing came out of it, so it’s easy to say that fans were afraid for the game.

A teaser trailer for Bayonetta came out around three and a half years ago. Beyond that, there’s no further information about the game.

“Where is Bayonetta 3?” asked Tamoor Hussain in the interview. “Does it still exist? We’re dying out here. Are you going to show it to us again? What’s the deal here?”

“It definitely still exists, I can confirm it,” answered Nate Bihldorff, Nintendo of America’s senior director of localization.

“I will even go one further, and say not only does it exist, but it’s progressing well” added Bill Trinen, senior product marketing manager of Nintendo of America.

“We like to show things whenever we’re ready to show them, and certainly we like to show things when the developer’s ready to show them. So we didn’t have it at E3, but stay tuned.”

Devs anxious to release new information about game

Bayonetta 3 is under development right now but there isn’t a lot of information about it. From what it seems, Nintendo is likely trying to keep their cards close to their chest.

The third entry for Bayonetta is almost equal in standing with Devil May Cry in its size of fanbase. Series designer Hideki Kamiya noted earlier this year that he wanted to release an update this year.

“We’ve been working on new stuff like Bayonetta 3, not that I can say too much… but I hope we can give an update during the year… and give updates on a few more unannounced projects too,” Kamiya said in an interview. “I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say that, but I said it anyway.”

The devs for the game are noting that they are pushing for a high-quality title. Much of the silence comes from their move to a higher standard of quality for the game. Bayonetta 3 should have more news over the months to come, including other projects for Platinum.
