In this age of wireless earbuds, it is fitting to have a wireless speaker as well. Luckily, the best wireless speakers do not need to be expensive.
Choosing the best wireless speakers is not easy. Several things needed to be considered, such as sound quality. Luckily, top-notch sound quality does not need to break one’s wallet.
With that being said, here are some of the wireless speakers in the market worth getting. The list ranges from US$50 [AU$70] up to flagship tier speakers.
1. Under $50 – JBL Go 2
JBL creates some of the best wireless speakers in the market today. The JBL Go 2 is a steal for its price.
For only US$39, this speaker offers excellent sound quality and great looks. It is also waterproof and comes in a small package. It is perfect for out of town trips, camping, and similar activities.
However, there is one caveat to this speaker. The battery life is average. It only lasts up to five hours in a single charge. Topping it up takes about 2.5-hours, so it is not that great.
Runner Up: Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen)
There is a runner up in this segment. The Amazon Echo Dot is a small portable speaker that produces clear and solid sound. The best part is it is available for $49.99.
This speaker also has Amazon Alexa compatibility. It works as an excellent smart assistant. However, Alexa’s function is still limited.
All in all, the Amazon Echo Dot is a great substitute if the JBL Go 2 is out of stock.
2. Under $200 – Ultimate Ears Blast
The Ultimate Ears Blast currently retails for $179.99 on their website. But, Amazon is selling it for less than $100. This makes it an excellent price to performance speaker.
Sure, the category talks for a device under $200, and it fits in. However, the Amazon deal greatly increases the value that a person gets from this speaker.
For less than a hundred in Amazon, users get a wireless speaker that has a very clear and dynamic sound.
Battery life is rated up to 12 hours, which is a lot better than the JBL Go 2. There is also an Alexa voice integration for those who use smart assistants.
Runner Up: Bose SoundLink Revolve
Bose has entered this category with the Bose SoundLink Revolve. It is currently priced at $199, barely fitting the under $200 mark.
This wireless speaker connects via Bluetooth and 3.5mm audio jack. It also features a 12-hour battery life similar to The Blast.
Sound quality is great with nice punchy bass and clear highs. The omnidirectional speaker also makes it great for parties.
If budget permits, its older brother the Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus is also a great option.
3. Above $300 – Audio Pro Addon C10
The Audio Pro Addon C10 is one of the best wireless speakers out there. It is on the expensive side. But it is well worth it.
This speaker retails for $349 at Amazon. However, there is no compromise in its features.
The sound quality is great, with rich bass and powerful sound stage. It includes the majority of connectivity options as well. Wired or not, there is an available plug for it.
Besides the sound quality, it supports Spotify and Tidal for music on the go. It is an all in one package.
4. The premium choice – Naim Mu-so Qb 2nd Gen
For someone who has deep pockets and has all the money in the world to spend, the Naim Mu-so Qb 2nd generation is the best option.
This speaker improved the already very impressive first-generation Mu-so. The sound quality is, of course, top-notch. The soundstage is open, detailed, expressive, and packs a lot of punch.
At this price point, users must be able to stream from it directly. Surely, this speaker is pretty much capable of playing music from top-rated players. Spotify? Tidal? Apple Music? Chromecast? Name the player, and this speaker connects in no time.
There might be a caveat to this speaker, right? There is none.
It is capable of playing Hi-Fi music, multi-room capability, and well-optimized speakers.
The only downside is its price. But that is pretty much subjective and may not even be considered a caveat at all.
This device is one of the best wireless speakers out there. However, not everyone can afford it. Think of it as a worthy investment that will last years instead.
