THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 have been working on Biomutant for a long time now, and fans have still yet to see a release date for the post-apocalyptic title. Luckily, the publisher has a lot of good news for fans of the game.
Biomutant is a unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre. While games like The Last of Us 2 focus on zombies and a virus, the world of the upcoming title if focused on animoid creatures that have a knack for fighting. Here’s everything we saw in the trailer.
Combat is unique
The trailer highlighted how combat might feel in the game. The trailer shows off a lot of martial arts and what could very well be a martial arts school. If true, then this is likely the place where players will start off in.
Aside from hand-to-hand combat, the game will also feature an assortment of melee weapons and firearms. It’s likely that players will be given an option as to how they can fight their way through the world.
When Biomutant was first revealed, one of the main attractions in the game was the ability to create a unique character. Aside from facial features, players were free to tinker with their avatar’s overall size and appearance. What’s even better is that the size of their character will affect their stats.
For instance, bulky characters will have high defense, while smaller characters will be more agile. The trailer showed off what could be the variety of avatars that players can create in the game.
Factions are also going to be present in the post-apocalyptic game. It’s likely that players can undertake quests from these factions to earn gear and other rewards. We’ve yet to know if these factions will play a big role in the game’s story.
In an interview, the developers talked about how players will be able to create an assortment of weapons and armor in the game. The game will have a detailed crafting mechanic. In fact, it sounds like players will have to craft various clothes depending on the climate.
According to the developers, Biomutant is already in the end-phase of development. This means that the game could be launching soon, but we’ve yet to know exactly when that is, as well as what platforms the game will arrive in. We might be getting more details in the future.
