‘Biomutant’ tops Steam’s list of best-sellers

THQ Nordic’s Biomutant, despite meeting average to mixed reviews, emerged as the top-selling game on Steam’s list for May’s last week.

Released last week, on May 25, Biomutant outperformed all the latest blockbusters on Steam.

‘Biomutant’ outselling its rivals!

Industry insider and one of the trusted sources for all things gaming, Daniel Ahmad, shared the data on his Twitter account. He tweeted the recent list of top ten best-selling Steam titles for the week ending May 30th.

Coming as a surprise, Experiment 101’s open-world game Biomutant beat every other contender. It debuted at the number one spot.

Its pre-orders and the main release itself claimed the first and second positions respectively.

Few others also witnessed a jump this time due to a boost in the sales. Some of them include Sea of Thieves, GTA V, Ark, The Witcher 3, and Rust.

Another reason for an elevation in the list might be Steam’s open-world sale.

On the other hand, major titles such as Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Days Gone PC. Both of them came down to fourth and fifth spots respectively.

After having a good time on the list, Capcom’s Resident Evil Village, saw itself making an exit. Few others also faced a similar fate, such as Subnautica: Below Zero, Red Dead Redemption 2, It Takes Two, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Here are all the best-selling Steam games (by order of sales) for the week ending May 30th:

  1. Biomutant (Pre-Order)
  2. Biomutant
  3. Sea of Thieves
  4. Mass Effect Legendary Edition
  5. Days Gone
  6. Valve Index VR Kit
  7. Grand Theft Auto V
  8. Ark: Survival Evolved
  9. The Witcher 3 GOTY
  10. Rust

Next big update is coming soon

We mentioned above that the latest entry from the developers met with negative reactions as well. It included a lot of complaints also, regarding the gameplay issues.

Experiment 101 recently said that a major patch is coming soon. And it will include bug fixes and “changes based on community feedback”.

Currently, the team of devs is working on “pacing of dialogues, narrator settings, difficulty settings, video settings like depth of field and motion blur”. It also involves loot and enemy tuning along with sound and combat.

The one fix regarding the “narrator settings” will be interesting to watch out for. Because at the moment, players don’t have an option to shut it down completely. Hopefully, the upcoming patch will do that.

Biomutant is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S.
