On the previous report, October 18, the American ABC broadcast signboard confirmed that BLACKPINK would perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Most popular all-female group
The K-Pop quartet BLACKPINK performed and shared its stories in Jimmy Kimmel Live! The group is the first K-pop girl group to appear in the US late-night show. Host Jimmy Kimmel introduces the group as “the most popular all-female group in the vast music known as K-pop.”
The group joined the show via video chat on Tuesday (October 20). BLACKPINK’s four members, Rose, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, talked about their successful gigs, including their appearance at the Coachella music festival last year.

Worldwide hit performance
BLACKPINK also released behind-the-scenes footage in making their first full-length album earlier this month, THE ALBUM. Also, the band performed their worldwide hit Lovesick Girls after their interview.
With their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, BLACKPINK became the first female K-pop group to appear as a guest on the US popular late-night talk show, as mentioned above. The show featured a wide range of guests, including former US President Barack Obama.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK also performed at Good Morning America on October 21. The group performed DDU-DU DDU-DU in the popular morning talk show last year.
BLACKPINK topped in world’s biggest music market
BLACKPINK hits No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with The Album, including its title track, Lovesick Girls. They became the first girl group to top Billboard’s Artist 100 chart.
Moreover, the group also ranked No. 2 in the official UK Charts that ended last October 15. Along with the United Kingdom, the group dominated the Official Album Charts in Germany.
Considering Germany as one of the world’s biggest music market, the feat proved that they are competing with BTS in being a world phenomenon where they held a spot at No. 7.
