Due to BLACKPINK Lisa and the other Thai idols’ silence towards Thailand’s current crisis, T-netizens ask South Korea to ban them.
The Thai netizens have once again called out BLACKPINK Lisa due to her silence despite her homeland’s current political conflict. And as the people are calling her attention, the hashtag #แบนลิซ่า meaning “Ban Lisa“ trended on Twitter.
The hashtag contained messages that, due to the idol’s apathy regarding the crisis, she should be banned.
The T-netizens disapproval amid the country’s political conflict
This disapproval surfacing the internet against BLACKPINK Lisa is not the first time. It is not only Lisa who has been receiving calls to voice out from fellow citizens.
Starting August, the youth netizens in Thailand have been mentioning other Thai Kpop idols. This includes NCT/WayV/SuperM’s Ten, GOT7’s Bambam, 2PM’s Nichkhun, CLC’s Sorn, and many more: asking them to join the pro-democracy movement.
What is happening in Thailand?
For starters, the Thailand citizens starting 2014 lived under the military dictatorship or the Jungta government. Thais lost their liberty with excessive state power and authority, affecting their human rights.

As claimed by pro-democracy people in the country, they are threatened when they tried to speak up. Some were attacked, and some also disappeared.
With this, the Thais hope that celebrities will lend their voices since they believe the government can’t harm them. And also, they think they will not suffer the consequences since they are known worldwide.
The angered netizens
The Thai citizens were enraged when the idols did not speak up. They used the hashtag #แบนไอดอลคนไทยในเกาหลี (ban Thai idols in South Korea) and expressed their disappointment.
Furthermore, receiving the most backlash is BLACKPINK’s Lisa as she is the most successful and influential superstar among the others.
Meanwhile, to support the idol, the Thai BLINKs countered the negative hashtag using #กลมๆลิซ่า (Round Lisa). Also joining the defense are the International BLINKs using the hashtag #leavelisaalone.
