John Mayer presents a lovely gift to BLACKPINK Rose!
Rose shared a pink electric guitar she received from John Mayer on Instagram Stories, July 16, at 10:59 AM KST. Rose captioned her story “Life’s complete” and thanked John Mayer for the gift.
John Mayer also sent a handwritten note to John Mayer thanking him for his support of “On The Ground.”
John Mayer wrote in his note, “Rosé! I should be thanking YOU! (so thank you),”
A special Electric Guitar!
John Mayer gave Rose an electric guitar, but he designed a custom guitar in collaboration with Paul Reed Smith (PRS Guitars). It is called “Silver Sky.”
You can choose from Maplewood or rosewood fretboards for your guitar. John Mayer gave Rose the rosewood variant of the limited edition color Roxy Pink for more than $2,500.
Rose couldn’t have chosen a more fitting gift. Her name is in the fretboard’s wood, and the color, Roxy Pink, is very similar to Rose’s favorite color, baby pink. Rose also plays the guitar during her performances.
John Mayer says that the “Silver Sky” guitar is his vision for how an electric guitar reboot should look and feel. He used his favorite vintage specs and gave it a modern aesthetic. John Mayer spent two years studying and refining the “Silver Sky,” which made the guitar even more special for Rose.
Rose had performed John Mayer’s song “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” in the first episode of JTBC’s “Sea of Hope” a few weeks before receiving this special gift.

BLACKPINK Rose performs ‘Slow Dancing In A Burning Room’
On June 29, JTBC’s official Youtube channel, “Sea of Hope,” uploaded Rose’s cover of John Mayer’s hit single “Slow Dancing In a Burning Room.” “
Rose’s stunning voice was highlighted in the acoustic performance, which captivated fans and celebrities present during the shoot. These included Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Lee Sang Min, and Akdong Musician’s Suhyun and SHINee’s Onew.
John Mayer, the original singer, was not surprised by the cover’s beauty.
John Mayer posted a clip of Rose performing and said, “This cover is stunning.” He also added a swipe-up link to make it easy for fans to find her cover.
Rose had a fangirl moment, too, when she shared John Mayer’s Instagram story to her own. She expressed her disbelief at John Mayer sharing her cover. Rose accompanied her story by “Whaat…? No way…… Pinch me.”
