Blake Shelton badly wants to trim down before his wedding with Gwen Stefani. But he just could not start yet.
No one can stop Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani from getting married now. However, the two still have not decided when they will finally tie knots.
In a virtual interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Shelton told the host about his plans on losing weight. He said that he wanted to do so ahead of his nuptials with Stefani.
“I feel like if you say something like that on a public forum then you have obligated yourself to make sure that it gets done,” the 44-year-old country singer said.
However, they could not plan everything yet as the coronavirus pandemic continuously affects their schedules.
With that said, Shelton just could not lose weight yet — and he does not know when exactly he should.
“They’re hearing me say it on your show right now that I am going to lose weight for the wedding, but we don’t know when that’s going to be so why should I start?” he went on.
Elsewhere the interview, Shelton even joked to Colbert that he would marry Stefani in the morning.
Shelton’s Goal
In another interview with his friend, Luke Bryan, he looked into the chances of him losing at least 20 lbs before and after the wedding.
“I feel like if I say 10, I have to do it. So, 10. It’s out there now, I can’t let people down. I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house. So they look like you when you’re taking a selfie from up above because you can’t even stand and look at myself in the mirror,” he said.
In the same Apple Music Country show Party Barn Radio, he joked how an angle is the key to make himself look thinner.
But jokes aside, the two can truly plan their wedding freely soon since Stefani is now officially single.
Earlier this year, Us Weekly reported that the Catholic Church granted the Hollaback Girl singer and Gavin Rossdale an annulment. The development in their relationship came after they called it quits in August 2015 after five years of marriage.
“Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican tribunal,” the insider said. “She will be receiving the notification in writing in the next few weeks, but it’s official.”
The formal process of their annulment began in March 2019.
