Blizzcon Online gets scheduled for February

Many gaming events happen yearly, and one that was supposed to happen soon was Blizzcon. However, instead of the usual major event, Blizzard is opting to hold BlizzConline.

Holding the annual Blizzcon might not be the best idea anymore, considering that there’s still a global pandemic. To keep up with the concerns, Blizzard has since decided on holding BlizzConline – an online conference. Like most companies before it, Blizzard’s online event might prove successful too.

Dates announced

In a tweet, Blizzard has confirmed that the upcoming online conference is set to take place on Feb. 19-20. As per Blizzard, there’s still a lot of planning behind the event, but overall, they just wanted to give attendants a heads-up.

Earlier this year, Blizzard had noted that Blizzcon was still on for Nov. However, it didn’t take long for the company to cancel the event because of safety and health concerns.

The cancellation of the original plan was bound to happen, considering that at the time, the pandemic was still present. Even now, there are safety concerns regarding the pandemic. Blizzard is yet to reveal how players will be able to access the event, but players should expect more details soon.

What will be at the event?

Blizzard has a ton of games in the pipeline that could appear at BlizzCononline. One game that players are mostly looking forward to is Overwatch 2. It will be almost a year since Blizzard has revealed the game. Up to this point, we’ve yet to see more of the shooter.

Overwatch 2 is a direct follow-up of Blizzard’s hit shooter. It will have an assortment of new features, including a story mode that progresses the game’s forward. It will also introduce new maps, heroes, and a new mode to the current version of the game.

Beyond this title, Blizzard is also working on Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal. Diablo 4 is a new entry in the dungeon-crawling RPG. On the other hand, Diablo Immortal is a mobile game based on the acclaimed franchise. However, the game wasn’t well-received when it was revealed last year.

BlizzConline will allow Blizzard to move forward despite the current restrictions. Apart from that, we’re sure that Blizzard is also enforcing a work from home setting. Fans should at least expect that Blizzard is working on big things for the event. For now, fans should wait for more details about the upcoming event soon.
