The original BloodRayne, released by Terminal Reality and Majesco Entertainment, is now getting a remastered release next month.
Ziggurat Interactive and Big Boat Interactive have just announced the official dates for BloodRayne: Revamped and BloodRayne 2: Revamped. They will arrive for the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
‘BloodRayne’ remastered release details
Ziggurat Interactive has decided to eventually resurrect the third-person action-horror franchise, which became nearly dead a decade ago.
The original BloodRayne titles had received positive reactions upon their launch back in 2002. But by the year 2011, the initial developers thought to end the saga.
For those who are unaware, BloodRayne is an action vampire series set in the late 1930s. It follows the story of half-vampire Rayne, who travels the globe in order to stop the Nazis so that they can’t uncover a hidden supernatural artifact.
After the first entry, the franchise saw another installment that took place 60 years later. In this one, Rayne tries to stop a vampiric conspiracy from taking over the entire world and humanity.
There was also a 2D spinoff title in 2011, called Betrayal.
In 2020, Ziggurat Interactive acquired this old franchise. And then it re-released the two original games for PC with the subtitle Terminal Cut.
Now, the publisher is eventually bringing its remastered versions for modern consoles, that is, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. The credit for remastering goes to developer Big Boat Interactive.
The new versions will be mostly available digitally while having a limited phase of physical units for PS4 and Switch. Interestingly, it will be the first time that the sequel will arrive on a Nintendo console.
However, BloodRayne: Revamped and BloodRayne 2: Revamped are not fully remastered. They are just updated re-releases of the past titles. So there are great improvements in the cinematics, audio, text localization, reflection, and other effects.
The 3D models in the game are still the same in terms of appearance.
Upcoming new titles in 2021
Meanwhile, there are multiple other fresh titles gaming lovers can get hyped for. Before its end, 2021 is still packed with highly awaited heavyweights.
When it comes to potential blockbusters, then there are crucial names like Halo Infinite and Ubisoft’s Riders Republic.
EA and DICE’S Battlefield 2042 is also coming next month. It’s the newest entry in the famous action series.
Apart from that, Activision and Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty: Vanguard is also releasing in just a month. This time, the upcoming installment will heavily focus on multiplayer modes. In fact, it will also introduce a new competition, namely the Champion Hill.
Coming back to BloodRayne remastered versions, then they will be launching on November 18. The available platforms are PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
