Brad Pitt lost in his legal battle against Angelina Jolie, this time after the high court denied his request to review the custody case.
In September, Brad Pitt – through his legal representatives – requested the high court to review the case after Judge John Oderkick was disqualified from their legal battle. The judge’s exit voided all his previous rulings, including the verdict that gave the actor more time with their five children.
However, the California Supreme Court stated “Petition and stay denied” on the request. The couple will now follow the original November 2018 agreement about the setup regarding their minor children.
“It was based on a technical procedural issue and the Supreme Court’s decision not to review that procedural issue does not change the extraordinary amount of factual evidence which led the trial judge — and the many experts who testified — to reach their clear conclusion about what is in the children’s best interests,” a representative for Pitt said.
The legal representatives pledged they would continue doing everything legal depending on the experts’ findings.
Meanwhile, Jolie’s attorneys revealed that the actress already knew about the decision and would remain focused on her family.
The development on Pitt, Jolie’s case
Before the new development happened, Judge Ouderkirk was disqualified from the case for, allegedly, failing to disclose other legal proceedings about Pitt and his legal counseling.
At that time, Pitt’s attorneys argued that the removal of Ouderkirk upended the “constitutionally authorized temporary judging system in California.”
Meanwhile, Jolie initially insisted that the judge could be biased as he failed to disclose Pitt had hired him to look into.
After the judge officiated their wedding, Ouderkirk was hired in 2016 when they listed their business relationships. They extended their contracts with him throughout their five-year custody battle.
Jolie and Pitt share six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox.
Angelina Jolie admits not being a perfect parent
Recently, the actress sat down for an interview with People, where she revealed she is not a perfect parent to her six kids. She also confessed she becomes tough on herself as a mother.
Still, she thanked her kids for helping her by being patient and kind as she continues her battle against Pitt over the custody.
“I have six very individual human beings in my home. I am so excited about all the different stages and feelings and curiosities that they go through. Why wouldn’t you be?” she went on.
Angelina Jolie has been romantically linked to The Weeknd. Neither the two has confirmed the rumors yet.
