Brad Pitt, reportedly, tried to talk Angelina Jolie out of adopting their second eldest child, Pax.
According to Us Weekly, Pitt’s refusal to adopt Pax almost led to the demise of his relationship with Jolie. But for Brad Pitt, he had a good reason not to want another child to their growing family.
Brad Pitt didn’t think it was right to adopt Pax after Shiloh’s birth
A source told the magazine that Pitt was concerned over the timing of Pax’s adoption because it took place right after Shiloh was born. Additionally, Pax was already 3 years old when he got adopted, and he didn’t speak a word of English.
But despite his refusal, Jolie still pushed through with Pax’s adoption. And she also told Pitt that Pax needs her more than Shiloh does. And this, reportedly, angered the Ad Astra actor.
Angelina Jolie told Pax that his dad didn’t want to adopt him
On one occasion, Jolie, reportedly, told Pax that his dad never really wanted to adopt him.
“It’s harmed his and Brad’s relationship, though Brad denied having said that specifically,” the source said.
Brad’s relationship with his children
Pitt’s relationship with his eldest son, Maddox isn’t amicable either. In fact, the father and son, reportedly, had a falling out four years ago. Their altercation on the plane led to Jolie’s decision to file for divorce from Pitt.
The source said that Maddox is very protective of his mom. And he’s also quite headstrong. And out of Brad Pitt and Jolie’s six children, it is Shiloh who’s most eager and willing to work things out with her dad.
Pitt’s relationship with his adopted daughter, Zahara has also, reportedly, improved. As for his twins, Vivienne and Knox, they are, reportedly, sheltered from a lot of the issues because they are just 11 years old.
Brad Pitt, Maddox, Pax relationship still tense
In July, Star claimed that Pitt’s relationship with his two eldest children is still tense. But the actor’s younger kids can’t, allegedly, wait to reunite with their dad.
Things were looking out for Pitt and Jolie for quite some time but their amicable relationship didn’t last very long. Last month, the exes once again had a falling out that could impact Pitt’s relationship with his children.
And just last week, reports revealed that the A-listers have stopped attending family therapy together. Years ago, they deemed this was necessary for the sake of their children.
Brad Pitt and Angelina will face each other in court to finalize the custody of their children.
