After Ryan Reynolds made fun of the very short cameo of Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2, there were questions about how the actor ended up in the movie.
Although it was only a super brief appearance, it couldn’t be denied that Brad Pitt made a considerable impact. It was something that fans could never forget and didn’t even expect to happen.
So, how did Angelina Jolie’s ex-husband ended up doing this film?
Brad Pitt’s briefest cameo
In the second installment of the not-so-ordinary superhero movie, Deadpool (Reynolds) organized a team called X-Force. It included a special member, Vanisher, an invisible superhero played by the 56-year-old actor.
Fans only got the chance to see him when he crashed on a lamppost’s cables, got electrocuted and died.
Aside from Vanisher, other members of the team also died, like Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgård). It also had a regular human member, Peter (Rob Delaney).
According to Screenrant, this stint is the briefest cameo that Brad Pitt ever did in his three-decade career. As one of the biggest names in Hollywood, it’s quite surprising that he agreed.

The token Brad Pitt asked in return
The publication noted that Jennifer Aniston’s ex was never hard to convince.
Brad Pitt was supposed to play a different character, Cable, in Deadpool 2. However, he couldn’t fully commit due to his busy schedule.
He ended up doing Vanisher, who should never be seen in the movie. But as the script developed, the film’s creative team thought it would be a perfect moment to reveal an unexpected celebrity cameo when he got electrocuted.
Hence, they decided to get the “hardest get in Hollywood.”
Reynolds pitched the idea to Brad Pitt. As the latter’s kids loved the first Deadpool, he quickly agreed to do the movie.
Deadpool 2 co-writer Rhett Reese revealed the Seven star only asked for a little favor. His rate was “a very, very low number, a low, low salary, and a cup of coffee” delivered to him by Reynolds himself.
Reynolds making fun of Brad Pitt
Meanwhile, Reynolds recently made a funny joke about Brad Pitt’s brief cameo in Deadpool 2. In a post on Instagram, he shared a throwback photo from the set of the franchise’s second movie.
The photo featured him and Brad Pitt, whose face was cut and couldn’t be visibly seen. He captioned the snap with a hilarious statement, saying, “Worked with a lot of great bit players. This guy played ‘Vanisher.'”
