Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston share the same outlook when it comes to supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. The Friends alum showed her support to the black community, and the Ad Astra actor followed suit.
Brad Pitt has decided to do what his first wife Jennifer Aniston did, and that’s to support the black community.
Last week, The Morning Show star donated $1 million to Color of Change, a leading online racial justice organization. The charity aims to “end practices that unfairly hold black people back.” The actress made the move following George Floyd’s death.
According to The Mirror, Pitt is making the same move by matching Aniston’s donation.
“Brad is really involved with the charity because of Jen and said he would match her donation,” the source said.
“He went to the protests this week and was at her home the day after. They are both very passionate and want to help as much as they can.”
Prior to making a seven-digit donation, Jennifer Aniston spoke up about racism. The actress admitted that the issue is a true concern in America.
“This week has been heartbreaking for so many reasons.,” Aniston said.
“We need to acknowledge that the racism and brutality in this country have been going on for a long time – and it’s NEVER been okay. As allies, who want equality and peace, it’s our responsibility to make noise, to demand justice, to educate ourselves on these issues, and more than anything, to spread love.”
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt married in 2000 and divorced five years later. The couple said their separation was amicable. However, many believed that he fell in love with Angelina Jolie in 2004 when they were filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Although Aniston and Pitt’s romance didn’t work out, they remain good friends. Pitt was among Aniston’s guests when she celebrated her 50th birthday in 2019.
Also, earlier this year, they had a sweet reunion at the SAG Awards. Pitt and Aniston appeared happy and were smiling as they held each other’s hand based on the photos.
However, according to the source, the sighting did not please Angelina Jolie. The Maleficent star felt disrespected.
“Brad’s very public reunion with Jen will also feel hurtful to her – it’s almost like, throughout their marriage, the public seemed to want Brad to get back with Jen. I think she’ll feel very disrespected,” the insider said.
