Brad Pitt admitted that he smoked in the past. However, according to an outlet, he was back into smoking cigarettes, and it didn’t sit well with his kids.
In June 2019, RadarOnline.com learned that Brad Pitt couldn’t quit his nicotine addiction, and his kids were “freaking out.” According to the outlet, he already quit smoking cigarettes but was back into his bad habit.
“Brad was vaping for a while, but lately he’s gone back to smoking up to two packs of cigarettes a day, and no-one’s more worried about this than his kids,” an insider told the outlet.
“They’re all extremely health conscious and have been taught from an early age that smoking is terrible, even though both their parents have been smokers on and off their whole lives.”
The outlet claimed that Pitt had been under a lot of stress due to his divorce and custody agreement with ex Angelina Jolie.
The unnamed source added that Brad Pitt’s ex-wife Angelina Jolie also smoked. However, unlike the Ad Astra star, she managed to quit. Thus, their six children were very proud of their mom.
“Angie managed to quit a couple of years back and the kids were so proud, but Brad’s still hopelessly dependent and it’s gotten them worried sick,” the source added.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. At the time, he was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
There were speculations that the Maleficent actress was among the reasons Pitt and Aniston split. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star defended Jolie from those rumors. According to him, there was no affair, and Jolie did not wreck his first marriage.
Pitt admitted that after their separation, he tried to run away from loneliness.
“What I realized is that I was running to avoid tough feelings, painful feelings. I just didn’t know how to deal with them. Anything I found that I used for escape,” Pitt confessed.
Pitt realized later that he was ready to face those painful feelings, which helped him become a better person.
“I want to sit in it, I want to feel it, I want to get through the rough night. I found in doing so, you come out the other side with a more profound understanding, of yourself and a greater gratefulness of those in your life,” he added.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie didn’t recognize herself after their split. According to the actress, she lost a part of herself and “felt a deep and genuine sadness.” She was hurt, and the experience reconnected her with humility.
