Here are the British Royals who love watching The Crown, and those who don’t.
British Royals have always attracted the attention of the public. Whether it may be from the United Kingdom or outside Europe, many people have always grown interested in the lives of the royalties.
This explains why Netflix’s The Crown has continued to grow its viewership numbers. Since the show’s emergence in 2016, many individuals across the globe are becoming more attached to the material.
Fans and followers have always wondered whether the members of the British Royal Family also tune in on the show. While several reports have already revealed which members watch the Netflix series, Cheat Sheet made a “run down” on which royals like it, as well as those who find it “ridiculous.”

Some British Royals love “The Crown”
Among all the members of the family, avid fans have become too inclined to learn if Queen Elizabeth watches it the most. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Vanessa Kirby, who plays the role of the Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret in Seasons 1 and 2, revealed that a friend of hers confirmed this to her.
She explained that her friend attended an event where Princess Eugenie was present. During the engagement, the York Princess reportedly shared with her friends that her “granny” watches The Crown, and she “really likes it.”
Later on, reports added that it was Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, who encouraged the British Monarch to watch the show. As stated, the Wessexes are huge fans of the material.
It makes total sense, though, that the confirmation would come from the young Princess as she personally shared her love for the show. She previously told reports that the Netflix Original is “filmed beautifully.” She noted, however, that she could not speak for everyone in their family.
The Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne, also confirmed that she watched a few episodes of the series. She even made a remark about the actress who played her character in Season 3. When Erin Doherty revealed that the set took hours to do the Princess Royal’s hairstyle, the royal herself laughed off and stated that she only does it for five to ten minutes.

These royals, however, do not watch it
Reports said that the only confirmed British Royals who do not watch The Crown are Prince William and Prince Philip. The confirmations came after Olivia Colman, who plays the role of Queen Elizabeth in Seasons 3 and 4, and Matt Smith, who played the role of the young Duke of Edinburgh in Season 1 and 2, shared about their respective discoveries.
Colman previously shared that she was able to meet and speak with the Duke of Cambridge. When he reportedly asked her what she was doing, he cut his question and responded that he “actually” knows about it.
The celebrity then asked if he watches the show. Prince William responded, “no,” but Olivia Colman described him as “charming” and “lovely.”
Smith, later on, revealed that one of his friends had dinner with the British Royals. His friend then asked them whether they watch the show. Prince Philip reportedly stated, “don’t be ridiculous.”
