Even though Brooklyn Nine-Nine is renewed for season 8, fans will have to wait for awhile because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has proved its success in the entertainment industry since its release in September 2013. The series has raked a lot of viewers and was acclaimed by critics. On top of that, it bagged two Creative Arts Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series.
The show wrapped up its seventh season recently, and fans could not stop themselves from looking for any information regarding the eight instalment. Fortunately, the creators of the series announced that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is not ending anytime soon.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine comes back for season 8
With the Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s official Instagram account, it was revealed that the cast will be returning for an eight season. During the table read, an NBC executive told the squad,
“We want to dispel some of these crazy rumours about next season. We want you to come back.”
In all likelihood, this announcement did not came as quite surprising. Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s last season grew to a 3.1 rating in 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall. This is the biggest digital percentage for an NBC series last season.
Co-creator teases season 8

Goor admitted that they are having fun working out the new arrangement with the new baby of Amy and Jake. They are also trying to figure out how their domestic lives will blend with their professional ones.
The co-creator also announced that writers are already working remotely for season 8. He further stated,
“The fact that the show has endured for this long is a testament to our amazing actors, crew, and writers, and to our fans, who are the best in the world. Thank you! Stay safe! Nine-Nine!”
More about the upcoming season
According to the announcement, all of the fan’s favorite cast will return to reprise their role. This includes Andy Samberg as immature police detective Jake Peralta, alongside a superb ensemble including Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago), Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords), Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz), and Andre Braugher as the intimidating Captain Holt.
It is a difficult question to answer as to when Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s season 8 will premiere. The release date depends solely when productions can start up again. However, considering all the networks currently on shutdown, the eight instalment seems far off.
Since filming has not started yet, fans will not be able to see the series’ trailer. Nevertheless, they can console themselves by binging every episode the network has already released.
