Brooklyn Nine-Nine star, Stephanie Beatriz wants to take over Ruby Rose’s role on CW’s Batwoman series.
Stephanie Beatriz plays Detective Rosa on NBC’s hit comedy sitcom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The actress also starred in several films such as Short Term 12. She also voiced Gertie in Ice Age: Collision Course.
The Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress is no stranger to the characters of Gotham City related movies and series. She was the voice of General Sweet Mayhem in The Lego Movie 2. Hence, Beatriz is hinting new career direction if she gets the role of Batwoman.
Ruby Rose quits role after one season
Ruby Rose announced that she’s stepping down as Kate Kane in Batwoman season 1. Batwoman season 2 will return on CW without Ruby Rose, however, CW is on the search for the role.

The Australian actress released her statement,
“I have made the very difficult decision to not return to ‘Batwoman’ next season. This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles.”
She then continued,
“I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this incredible opportunity, but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created.”
Although the actress did not mention anything relating to her accident, it might be the number one factor of her exit. Earlier this year, she injured her spine and herniated two disks in her back while filming. She underwent surgery in order to prevent her from having paralysis.
The actress also experienced chronic pain and unable to feel her arms. Furthermore, a crew member was also injured. The crew became paralyzed from the waist down after an onset stunt incident.
Rose detailed her traumatic accident on her Instagram account. Additionally, she included her video surgery on her account.

When a twitter user responded to her with, “GO METHOD,” she also responded that she dyed her hair red last month.
Shocked to hear about Ruby Rose leaving #Batwoman, but let's keep moving forward. Stephanie Beatriz is a great actress and it would be cool to see her put on the cowl for season 2 and beyond. pic.twitter.com/RjN6gJNP9M

Batwoman is not the only role the actress is eyeing on. She also opened up about her interest to play She-Hulk
CW is looking for a bisexual cast
CW announced the criteria for the Batwoman role. The network is looking for a bisexual woman to take the role. It might also be the reason for Beatriz’s interest. The actress is a member of the LGBTQ community.
Back in 2016, Beatriz opened up in being bisexual. It became part of the script in Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 5.
Currently, CW’s TV series production is set for 2021. Time will only tell if Beatriz will be able to film for Batwoman while also filming for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
