Big Hit Entertainment founder Bang Shi Hyuk and BTS celebrated Billboard success through a phone call.
On a video uploaded on BTS’ official YouTube channel, the members talked with Bang Shi Hyuk. They knew that their newest single, titled Dynamite, had spent two weeks at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Having that said, BTS is the first all-South Korean act to achieve the feat.
Dynamite on Billboard Hot 100
Billboard shared that Dynamite is one of the 43 songs to debut at number one on the Hot 100. The chart ranks the popular songs in the United States and all across streaming applications.
Coming second on the list is WAP by Cardi B, featuring rapper Megan Thee Stallion. The third is Drake’s newest track called Laugh Now Cry Later.
Excitement and happiness felt by BTS
In the clip, V took the phone and called Bang Shi Hyuk with happiness and shouted that they got to number one on the famous music chart. Bang Shi Hyuk responded with equal enthusiasm making other members burst into laughter.
Suga was teasing Bang Shi Hyuk that he is crying because of the news and jokingly told him to send a selfie of him crying. Jimin added that the members shed many tears since they knew Dynamite hit number one on the chart.
Bang Shi Hyuk then showered BTS his praise. He told them that they probably would not understand how incredible their achievement is, but it is truly unbelievable for him.
BTS is fond of Bang Shi Hyuk
The members are continuing to joke back and forth on Bang Shi Hyuk. They shared much laughter and joked most of their time during the phone call. BTS then graciously accepted the compliments of Bang Shi Hyuk and extended their gratitude to him.
The phone call ended with a promise that BTS and Bang Shi Hyuk will be meeting again, planning to make dinner sometime soon.
Lastly, V cutely exclaimed that “BTS loves Bang Shi Hyuk.”
