Before BTS departs for the United Nations General Assembly in the United States, members Jungkook and Jimin upload a picture on their official Twitter account to wish Korean ARMYs goodbye.
Members of the boy band BTS, chosen as cultural envoys to represent South Korea at the United Nations General Assembly, were seen leaving the country for the first time in two years since Covid-19 imposed global travel restrictions.
Inside the Korean airport, BTS members were spotted flaunting their new red-cover diplomatic passports.
Members of BTS are the youngest Korean nationals to obtain diplomatic passports in history, with Jungkook, the group’s youngest member, being just 23 years old.
Fans swooned at Jungkook’s humility in photos shot at the airport when he was seen kneeling as a sign of respect to those around him.
On September 14, members of BTS were recognized as “Cultural Envoys of South Korea” by President Moon Jaein, and they left the nation for the first time to fulfill their responsibilities as citizens of South Korea representing the young at the UNGA.
BTS is going to talk about racism
Prior to their travel to the United States to attend the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, BTS became the first-ever South Korean music act to obtain the special passports and be chosen as the Presidential Special Envoy for Future Generations and Culture.
Members of the famous boy band have been chosen as youth ambassadors, representing the issues of the young in international forums, since their speech in 2019.
BTS will address Youth Today with its statement against racism at the 2021 gathering. BTS has been outspoken about its thoughts on addressing this societal problem, having been victims of it despite its celebrity.
They also backed up their remarks with a $1 million donation to the “Black Lives Matter” campaign. ARMYs from all around the globe contributed and equaled the amount BTS gave within 24 hours, demonstrating their good impact on today’s youth.
It became the world’s first fanbase to raise $1 million for a good cause.
For the first time in years, BTS has left South Korea
The BTS members were spotted wishing Korean ARMYs goodbye when they were apprehended at Incheon International Airport on September 18.

The members were dressed casually and waved to fans who had come to see them off at the airport while holding their passports.
BTS left from Korea as delegates who will be accompanied by the president of South Korea at the United Nations General Assembly, which will be placed at the 7 World Trade Center in New York, USA, from September 21 to September 30.
BTS will participate in the ‘Sustainable Development Goals Movement,’ a gathering during the 76th United Nations General Assembly that will concentrate on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
As special envoys of South Korea, BTS will deliver remarks and broadcast a special performance video. They’ll be joined by Blackpink, another worldwide K-pop sensation.
On September 17, the female group was also chosen as ambassadors for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
