More for the bests of 2020, the world-renowned K-pop group, BTS, has been awarded by the leading U.S. music outlet Consequence of Sound as the Band of the Year.
The American publication, Consequence of Sounds, announced K-Pop superstars BTS as the 2020 Band of the Year.
The said music outlet selects and tells artists and bands of the year to come about the best music, film, and TV in the U.S. every year.
CoS on choosing BTS for the title
The Consequence of Sounds explained why they chose BTS as the Band of the Year. They said that the K-pop septet brought joy and a message of hope to a year rife with loss and uncertainty.
Furthermore, the jaw-dropping achievement of the group has also been pointed out by the publication.
They mentioned the Bangtan Boys being the first Korean act to land at No. 1 on the Billboard charts with Dynamite.
The group’s historic feat was mentioned saying that just a few weeks later, after hitting number one on Billboard, BTS became the history’s first act to debut a non-English language song at the number 1 spot with Life Goes On.

Moreover, the seven-piece became the first Korean group ever to receive a Grammy nomination and the first band in history to be debuting a song and album at No. 1 all in the same week.
Consequence Of Sounds: The miraculous streak
The Consequence of Sounds called the record-breaking streak of the boys as “miraculous.” This is for landing five number one albums in the United States faster than any band since another beloved international pop group: The Beatles.
The American publication ended their article with meaningful words. “The difference lies primarily in the fact that The Beatles didn’t have to also overcome a language barrier … Maybe they aren’t the next Beatles; maybe they are simply the first BTS.”
