BTS wins Best Pop at VMA; ‘Dynamite’ expected to top charts

BTS released their fourth studio album, Map of the Soul: 7 earlier this year.

BTS has continued to give their fans treats through their music. Following the release of the fourth album, Map of the Soul: 7, the K-pop group released another single, “Dynamite,” earlier last week.

Since the album’s arrival, the all-male South Korean pop music group has increased their fame and success in the industry. They have continued to break records, placing them on top of most music charts for 2020.

BTS won the Best Pop award at the 2020 VMAs

On Monday, the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards hailed BTS as the Best Group of 2020. They also received several other awards, including the Best Pop and Best K-Pop for their hit single, “On.” Alongside these top accolades, they also bagged the Best Choreography award for the same single from their latest album.

During the awarding ceremony, the all-male K-pop group made their official performance debut for VMA, according to MTV. They performed their newest single, “Dynamite” while awing the audience with their choreographies in suits.

“Dynamite” leads them to another success

BTS released their latest single, “Dynamite” on August 21. Billboard reported that the blew up YouTube and have since done the same thing on the platform these past few days. As it happened, three million “concurrent” viewers tuned in on the premiere of the newest track.

Alongside the impressive premiere, they also bagged the overwhelming number of views within the 24 hours of the release. As noted, they counted over 101.1 million views during the first day. YouTube, reportedly, confirmed after that “Dynamite” is now the music video that has the biggest first-day debut.

After the first week, the same publication revealed that the summer track made it to the 30th spot on Billboard‘s Pop Songs radio airplay chart. Based on the figures, BTS had 2,301 plays in the first three days of its release. It even “surpassed” the group’s track, “Boy With Luv,” which is a collaboration with Halsey.

Forbes recently claimed that they might take the top spot at Billboard’s Hot 100 in the next few days. As noted, their all-English single, “Dynamite,” has continued to blow up records, “left and right.” Accordingly, many have since expected that the K-pop group will reach the top.

BTS first teased their newest single earlier in July. They announced that they would work on a new album for the better half of the year. However, they, reportedly, chose to release a single first because they wanted to provide “positive energy” to their fans due to the pandemic crisis.
