Buckingham Palace breaks its silence amid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversial comments regarding the upcoming U.S. Presidential election.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex debuted their primetime T.V. appearance in celebration of TIME100’s world’s most influential people.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Urged Americans to Vote
In the video filmed at their $14.65 million Santa Barbara mansion, the most sought after couple spoke about the importance of practicing the right to vote.
“When we vote, our values are put into action, and our voices are heard. Your voice is a reminder that you matter because you do and you deserve to be heard.”
Although the Duke of Sussex is a U.K. citizen, he joined his wife to encourage Americans to vote in the presidential election.
He also urged the public to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity” and distinguish the content they consumed online.
“Because when one person buys into negativity online, the effects are felt exponentially. It’s time to not only reflect but act.”
Buckingham Palace Shaded The Sussexes
Following this, Buckingham Palace threw shade at the former royals and was blasted by the “no comment” policy and pointed out that Prince Harry “is not a working member of the Royal Family.
“Buckingham Palace has said it won’t comment on the Duke of Sussex’s remarks about voting: “We would not comment. The Duke is not a working member of the Royal Family and any comments he makes are made in a personal capacity,” posted by The Sunday Times’ Roya Nikkah.

As a royal, one of their protocols is to remain politically neutral and to distance themselves from giving any constitutional opinions.
In addition, the monarchy “does not vote or stand for election.”
U.S. President Donald Trump Criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Aside from the Palace, U.S. President Trump strike back at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a scathing remark.
In the recent press conference held at the White House, the 74-year-old world leader jabs at the Duchess and mentions that he “is not a fan” of the former royal.
Furthermore, Trump mocked Prince Harry’s marriage with the former Suits star as he wished him “good luck,” adding that “he is going to need it.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dropped their bombshell announcement of stepping down as senior members of the Firm.
With this, they were stripped with their HRH titles and barred from using “royal” from their branding.
