Opening the mysterious bunker doors in Call of Duty: Warzone is so difficult that most players just wait for other players to open them. Now, it’s become a serious problem.
Call of Duty: Warzone has finally opened its mysterious bunkers in the game’s latest update. Not only that, but the battle royale also introduced a secret 11th bunker. Unfortunately, these bunkers had brought a serious problem to the players.
The difficulty in opening bunkers
To provide context to this problem, bunker doors are incredibly difficult to open. The only way to open bunker doors is to acquire a red access card. While that sounds simple enough, red access cards are actually a rare find.
Players can only obtain these access cards through really rare drops. Even then, access cards are not guaranteed.
There are basically two proven ways to open these treasure-filled bunkers. The first one is to wait for a drop or hunt for legendary crates. The other method is to hang around bunker sites and wait for other players to open the bunkers.
Now, it looks like players are abusing the second method, especially with Bunker 11. The 11th bunker is even more difficult to open as it involves a series of elaborate steps.
Bunker camping in Call of Duty: Warzone
Eurogamer reports that bunker camping has become a rampant problem in Warzone. Many players would just lie in wait for another player to open a bunker. Once that happens, they would immediately ambush the player and claim the loot for themselves.
Obviously, the players who were hard at work to open these bunkers aren’t happy with this situation. There is no rule in Warzone that states only those who opened a bunker can enter. In fact, as soon as a player opens a bunker, anyone could get in.
This did not sit well with a lot of players, and now the Call of Duty: Warzone gaming community has been divided on the fairness of the situation.
“Doing the Warzone Easter egg is toxic,” a Redditor, Austsin, remarks. “Now that everybody knows about the Bunker 11 Easter egg and how to do it, nobody can do it. There’s so many bunker campers, phone campers, and other teams trying to do the same thing you are. It makes sense but it is frustrating.”
Another Redditor REAVRx also expressed his/her frustration saying, “to the people who camp Bunker 11. Fuck you. You do not deserve the weapon blueprint. There are people hard at work trying game after game hour after hour to get the prize they deserve. Shame on you.”
Not exactly wrong
While bunker camping and ambushing other players may feel wrong, especially to the unfortunate targets, many claim that it isn’t necessarily wrong, in fact, a lot of players argue that the act of bunker camping is still within the spirit of a battle royale game.
Since the goal is to eliminate everyone and win, it is expected that players would flock to areas where they know other players would go. Players would just have to be extra careful when opening a bunker in Call of Duty: Warzone.
