A community of gamers is coming to a consensus at which Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter is least interesting.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a game known for its extensive collaborations with various franchises. Mostly a hub for various Nintendo IPs, the game would soon see an extensive number following its ongoing development. That is, with an anticipated 86 fighters in total, a good portion of which being coming from the Fighter’s Pass DLC.
There had been an abundant number of additional fighters introduced in the game, thus far. Each of which with their own supporters and naysayers from the entire gaming community. Inevitably, this raises an interest as to who is the least favorite by the fan base. Even if the notion itself is instigated by just a single curious user. And one whose survey will not result in anything but a response to an individual’s inquiry by a group of people.
Gamers’ Consensus
Accounting for the participants’ opinion within Resetera, a poll result shows who is the game’s “most boring DLC newcomer”. The outcome of which points down overwhelmingly to a character from a popular Nintendo series—Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ Byleth. That is, at a majority vote at more than 53 percent of the overall counting. Which, as of writing, is tantamount to no less than 800 individual votes.
Although the poll itself is nowhere near official, its outcome does speak volumes at the fandom’s view on the subject. There are plenty of angles to look at why this is the case, though. One is the apparent lack of hype leading to the DLC’s eventual release, which, like its counterparts, should be at its crux. Another is the prevailing notion of the game having too many characters, preceding Byleth, coming from the same franchise. Those were indeed noteworthy reasons to hate a particular DLC fighter, despite faithful representation from the source.
Not Everyone’s in It
But while the poll singles out Byleth as the least favorable, it does come with its own caveat. That is, that not all Fighter’s Pass DLCs ever released were in the least. That meant figures such as The Joker, Terry Bogard, Banjo Kazooie, and Sephiroth were not in it to choose from. Also worthy of mention is the exclusion of Piranha, which comes with its own special reason for not being so.
There is no telling whether the otherwise inclusion of said characters will make a difference with the outcome. But as it stands, it seems there’s no changing the fact that Byleth is least beloved in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
