Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered has just been released and it only has the single-player campaign mode. Fans of the CoD franchise are calling on the game developers to bring on the multiplayer mode to the newly remastered gameplay.
On Tuesday, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was just released on PS4.
The official website of the first-person shooter video game franchise released an announcement about the remastered release. It specifically indicated to “relive the epic single-player campaign.”
It’s been more than three years since the game’s predecessor had a remastered version released, and now Modern Warfare 2 has finally received the same treatment.
Activision announced that the current remastered release is set to deliver “the full story experience with stunning high-definition visuals and the latest audio advancements.”
Infinity Ward was the original developers of the game, but the remastered version was done by Beenox. In a tweet, the Canadian game developer called the remastered version a “labor of love.”
“Restoring and remastering this campaign for a new generation of players was a labor of love for our team.
We wanted to make sure that the feelings and power of the story was accurately represented with full HD visuals and the latest audio fidelity.” ????

The game purchase comes in a bundle
Currently, the game has been launched exclusively on PS4 for $19.99. Pre-purchases are also available for other platforms, and its release dates on PC and Xbox One is on April 30.
Activision announced the remastered version purchase comes with the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.
The bundle includes the UDT Ghost Operator skin, the “Task Force” and “One For One” weapon blueprints, a weapon charms, a Finishing Move, a calling card, an emblem, an iconic voice clip for Ghost and two Battle Pass tier skips.
Fans looking for Multiplayer mode
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was a blockbuster hit in 2009 and even received awards. One of which was the VGX Award for Best Multiplayer Game.
This is, probably, the reason behind fans of the video game series were disappointed to find out that the multiplayer and Spec Ops modes were not included in the remastered release.
Comicbook reports that players have started petitions asking the game developers to release a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Multiplayer. Unfortunately, the game developers and publishers are set on not releasing a separate multiplayer standalone pack.

Apparently, the goal of Activision and Infinity Ward is to focus on bringing “players together seamlessly in one unified online multiplayer playground.”
In a separate announcement, Activision addressed that they will instead “bring more classic map experiences to new life within the Modern Warfare universe.”
