‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ adds 50v50 mode, other in-game events

Season 4 has finally arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone and the update bring in new game modes, like the 50v50 Warzone Rumble and more.

After a week’s delay, the update for Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 was officially made available. It also came with a hefty update size on all platforms—40GB (45GB for premium) for PC, 32.5GB for PlayStation 4, and 44.4GB for Xbox One.

Activision widened the already extremely popular battleground with different modes of play. Here are the details of the recent update.

50v50 rumble

Two teams of 50 will drop within the various areas of Verdansk and battle it out in a Team Deathmatch face-off. According to Infinity Ward‘s patch notes, there will be “custom loadouts, vehicles, and quick respawns.”

With the Warzone Rumble being added to the playlist, there’s now a total of six modes for Warzone. Players will be glad to know that Quads, Trios, Duos, and Solos are carried over this season. So for Season 4, here’s the updated playlist:

  • Quads
  • Trios
  • Duos
  • Solos
  • Blood Money
  • Warzone Rumble!

Three new in-game events

The Call of Duty: Warzone devs have decided to spin the Battle Royale arena. With the heavy update came three in-game events called “Jailbreak,” Fire Sale,” and “Supply Choppers.”

According to Infinity Ward, “events can occur during Warzone Battle Royale matches and have an impact on the strategy and approach to gameplay. Events can happen in any given match without advance notice. When they happen, events will always occur mid-game. E.g. after the first drop kit and before the Gulag closes.”

It is important to note that only one of the three new events will occur per match. Players are advised to familiarize the three events, to know which one is about to transpire:

  • Jailbreak — Players that have been eliminated will be released back to the match, so it is important that the said players should stay and spectate, just in case Jailbreak occurs. This in-game event can happen at any point, either eliminated players are waiting for the 1v1 or have already lost in Gulag, and players will be notified a minute before Jailbreak happens. So long as players are spectating, they have the chance to respawn.
  • Fire Sale — with this event, the items at Buy Station gets a temporary discount of up to 80% or even completely free. However, Loadout Drops are exempted from this. During this event as well, players can buy back their fallen teammates for free. The event will only last 60 seconds.
  • Supply Choppers — In this, a “heavily armored helicopter” will be spawned, where it will drop high-quality loot, such as UAVs, armor boxes, and tons of cash. This helicopter will not shoot at players, but it’ll be difficult to take down. So players will need to strategize on attacking both the chopper and the enemy without being at a disadvantage.

Meanwhile, there’s a new Contraband Contract System as well, where it’ll give eliminated players a chance to respawn, “after a previous contract is completed.” There’s also a weapon mastery challenge implemented as well.

Lastly, as previously speculated, Captain John Price is indeed the new operator for this season.

Other Call of Duty titles such as Modern Warfare and Mobile also received its respective updates.
