Long life ahead
With new consoles from Microsoft and Sony scheduled to be released this holiday season, Warzone is ready to make the jump to the next generation.
This is awesome news for fans of the game who are worried about Warzone losing support after Modern Warfare will no longer be the most recent Call of Duty title. Fortunately, Taylor Kurosaki, the Narrative Director of Infinity Ward, stated in an interview that Warzone is ready to shift into the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 as soon as they are released.
Kurosaki said that Infinity Ward has plans for Warzone to be around the gaming scene for quite some time. However, Kurosaki did not make it clear if the support for Call of Duty: Warzone will only be backwards compatibility on the next generation consoles.
There is also the possibility that Activision will release a remaster of the game which will totally demonstrate the advanced graphics and abilities of the upcoming consoles.
Furthermore, these statements would mean that the game received a dedicated team working nonstop for its future release. Kurosaki also said that Infinity Ward has not decided yet if both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone will be released on Google Stadia.
Success is inevitable
Since the game debut last March, it has instantaneously become one of the most popular battle royale shooting games.
On its first month, the game registered over 50 million downloads worldwide. Since its release, the game has constantly drawn new players as developers continuously release new content for the game. Just last week, Call of Duty: Warzone received another software update which introduced the Most Wanted Contract game mode.
The new Call of Duty mode allows players to deliberately put a bounty on their heads. This will match every player against all players still alive at the moment in a high risk with high rewards situation.
