Call of Duty: Warzone has finally rolled out the new Duos game mode after months of waiting.
People can now safely consider Call of Duty: Warzone as one of the most diverse battle royale-type games out there. The game has finally rolled out its new Duos mode. This means that the game now supports solo, duo, trio, and quad playlists as well as limited-time game modes, Plunder, and more.
How duos mode will work on Call of Duty: Warzone
So the mechanics are quite simple when playing duos mode. Two players will have to team up and compete against 74 other duos, and the last duo standing wins.
But what happens when one player dies? The other player would have to continue the game solo. However, the player that died could have a shot at revival as long as they win the one-on-one fight in the Gulag. Furthermore, players can also revive their fallen partners before they bleed out.
The rules of the game are still that of the main battle royale mode. Even if only one player remains, the duo he/she belongs to will still be considered the winner, provided the player outlasts all the others.
A partnership can be with a friend or even with a random player.

Teamwork is everything
“Duos is quite possibly the ultimate test of friendship and teamwork; with only one other teammate to rely on, you’ll have to coordinate your strategies, make good callouts, and most importantly, hit your shots if your fellow Operator’s life is at stake,” Activision says in a blog post.
According to Activision, dysfunctional duos or those that don’t work together are usually the first ones eliminated. However, it is also worth mentioning that since only one of the two players needs to survive to win, partners also have the choice of ignoring each other, especially if one’s partner is subpar at best.
However, the chances of winning are higher if players work together. Working together is even more difficult in Duos mode since both players will have more roles to fill.
A nice surprise
The Call of Duty: Warzone duos mode had long been highly requested since the game was first released. However, Activision, particularly Infinity Ward, didn’t want to cut the player pool that much. Now that the game has millions upon millions of players, that doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore.
Activision hadn’t exactly been generous when it comes to giving out information, nor did they give any hint that such a mode is coming. This is why the new Duos mode comes as a nice surprise to players.
The arrival of the new duos mode in Call of Duty: Warzone is also timely since the game is set to transition into a new season on June 3.
