Dangerous Lies resembles mystery series Riverdale
As the title implies, Netflix thriller Dangerous lies has a lot of twists and turns.
It can be perfectly compared to Camila Mendes’ series Riverdale as it features mysterious murders, esque lighting, home invasion, as well as marital dispute. The film also has an extremely dramatic soundtrack just like Riverdale.
As for the characters, there is no limit to the dangerous lies that they tell and they’re all too intense in a way that adds to the pulpy theme of the film. The pacing has the added effect of making it hard to look away from the film, as so much is revealed so quickly.
At the same time, it has so little grounding in previous parts of the plot that a poorly timed lapse in attention practically guarantees viewers will miss a vital piece of information. Dangerous Lies isn’t Oscar bait, but it absolutely delivers what its extremely straightforward title promises.
