Camilla will not be called queen once Prince Charles succeeds the throne as Britons refuse to call her that way.
A new exclusive poll’s result ended up not in favor of Camilla becoming Queen.
Prince Charles has been waiting for decades for Queen Elizabeth II to abdicate or step down from the throne. However, the waiting game will seemingly take a long time since Her Majesty pledged to serve for the rest of her life.
Still, people questioned whether Camilla would be Queen once Prince Charles gets to sit on the throne. But Britons do not want that to happen.
No Queen Title For Camilla
On Express UK’s website, it revealed that three out of five respondents said Camilla should not be crowned as Queen. This should also be maintained even after Prince Charles ascends to the throne.
Meanwhile, only a quarter of the participants think that she should.
As for Prince Charles, Britons shared split opinions about his future role. According to the survey, half of the people want the succession to skip the Prince of Wales. It means that, after Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William should take over instead of Prince Charles.
Meanwhile, 44 percent of the respondents support him as a future King.
The poll welcomed 2,011 adults for the survey by Savanta ComRes on June 29 to 30.
“The fact more than 60 percent of people don’t want Camilla to become Queen when Charles ascends the throne is worrying for Charles and Palace courtiers,” royal author Phil Dampier said. “The recent death of Prince Philip reminds us, sadly, the Queen will one day leave us and it’s no longer a distant prospect.”
Although Camilla always shows a warm and good relationship with the press, they are not enough to make her Queen. He added that the public will never accept her as a monarch.
Per Dampier, Camilla always has a vague position despite marrying Prince Charles. However, he noted that it could be hard for her to take on the role since she is already in her late seventies.
Poll Also Talked About Princess Diana
Elsewhere in the poll, it has been revealed that one out of five said that the Princess of Wales will always be their favorite. In addition, three out five said that the late princess would have supported Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit.
She also defeated the royal women after the poll takers agreed that she was and will always be the People’s Princess.
