Casey Goode is not having the best pregnancy journey as she revealed that her baby boy, Max, tested positive for COVID-19.
On Sunday, Casey Goode disclosed to her 276,000 Instagram followers that her child contracted the virus one month after giving birth to him.
“Max tested positive for COVID-19 early Saturday am,” the American Idol alum revealed. In the caption, she further detailed what happened during the terrifying journey.

According to Goode, they drove him to the emergency room after suffering from a fever. Unfortunately, they received a confirmation that her baby was exposed to a medical professional who took care of him earlier that week.
This truly shocked the whole family, but the singer and Max need to stay in the PICU to undergo a quarantine period.
She also added that medical professionals treat her like she is already positive since she has been exposed to the baby. However, she clarified that she does not have any symptoms yet.
“Please send good energy to our little bub so he recovers fast. Not sure what happens next from here… but I expect to be offline for a while as we recover,” she asked her fans.
Meanwhile, Goode’s husband Alex released an update on Sunday, confirming that Max’ fever already came down. But the hospital still put him on oxygen part of the precaution.
Like his wife, Alex also asked his followers for kind thoughts amid the health crisis they face.
“We are in good spirits but we could also use some positive vibes,” he said, “so please keep Mad Maxi & Mama Quigley in your thoughts tonight.”
Casey Goode suffered from alarming medical condition before giving birth
Even before they welcomed Max to the world, Goode said that something terrible happened during their babymoon trip. During that time, she was already 37 weeks pregnant.
“As we were making the drive back, I got some alarming blood work results back stating that I had a condition called cholestasis that put me and baby at risk,” she wrote on social media.
They then decided to start laboring at home to see if she could have a planned home birth. But while doing so, the baby boy’s movements stopped, so they rushed themselves to the hospital.
While doing the emergency procedure, her doctors revealed that she had a series of complications. In the end, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia.
In order to keep her blood pressure normal, she received an IV of magnesium. After nearly 12 hours of labor, her OBGYN needed to vacuum Max out since his heart rate dropped.
“It got really scary at the end as he wasn’t crying or moving much when he came out. They took him for some tests and I only got to see him for about three seconds before he went to the’ neonatal intensive care unit,” she recalled.
