Developer CD Projekt Red has officially denied the rumors on a further delay of Cyberpunk 2077. The makers came out to clear all doubts.
According to Comicbook, the developers didn’t exactly deny the claims. But on the part of the delay, they said that there’s no need to panic. And that Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on Dec. 10. They reaffirmed on this date while answering the questions of another delay.
For those unaware of the situation, recently, the Polish game developer removed the game’s Twitter account release date. Following this, the leaker group called “Tiffany Treadmore” spread the rumors that the game is delayed again. But the group itself is also known to be inconsistent when it comes to true leaks about this title’s past reveals.
However, the alleged claim by this group is now officially denied by CDPR itself. It said that the removal was part of an overhaul, and now it’s back to normal.
“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors or speculation,” said a spokesperson from CD Projekt Red. “But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”
Cyberpunk 2077 finally coming in December?
All things considered, the biggest question right now is whether the December date is officially finalized or not. Because the wait is already so much that several people have already shown their disinterest in the game.
The initial release of November 19 was changed at the end of last month. And the reaction from fans was very negative, which is very obvious to understand. Before that, the famous overdrive incident made everyone hate the game as developers announced “extra working hours” for the employees.
It sparked the debate among hardcore gamers if the game was even finished or not. But several other industry developers defended CD Projekt Red, saying that this “overdrive” phase is normal. The reason was that big-budget titles do need extra finishing and refinements before the official launch.
Criticism and issues over the game
Meanwhile, many people on social media are thinking of ignoring the game upon its actual release. They even said that they wouldn’t buy it because it’s been like a fraud from the makers’ side.
The very teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated title in years was unveiled in 2013. Since then, it’s been a long ride for both the fans and developers. They wanted to make this the best open-world “AAA” video game the world has ever seen.
It seems like the ambitions took a toll on the deadline, resulting in such a long delay. The good thing is that now, it will eventually arrive on Dec. 10, 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Google Stadia.
