Despite a lukewarm response after an exciting launch for Cyberpunk 2077, its developer CDPR is pretty much confident of its future.
CD Projekt Red is convinced that Cyberpunk 2077 will keep selling copies for “years to come.”
The Polish developer is not afraid of the adverse reaction the title has received so far since last December.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’: What’s next for the 2020s most significant launch?
In a recently issued statement to Reuters, studio head Adam Kiciński said that CDPR is not thinking of abandoning the game despite a shaky release and mixed reviews.
“I don’t see an option to shelve Cyberpunk 2077. We are convinced that we can bring the game to such a state that we can be proud of it and therefore successfully sell it for years to come,” he said.
So it’s clear that the developers will keep improving Cyberpunk 2077 until it reaches a state of perfection, which is a good thing, indeed, given the fact that it took more than seven years!
Before the launch, in December 2020, it also went through lots of delays. Plus, the overdrive controversy even led to heavy criticism from many gamers on social media during September.
However, now that the dust has gradually begun to settle down, some players have started to like CP77.
One of the biggest reasons for appreciating it is the story and the characters. They all provide much-needed depth throughout the primary campaign’s storyline.
Meanwhile, the Polish developer has announced more improvements. They will keep arriving in the coming months in the form of bug-fixing updates.
Additional DLCs might make a more significant impact
Downloadable Content always acts as the best USP for any major title. And Cyberpunk 2077 has massive scope for a new playable portion with an added storyline.
A Panam-based DLC is already announced. But there are even more characters who might attract the players by keeping them hooked for a longer duration.
One such character is Judy Alvarez from Night City.
With the launch of CP77, most gamers liked her a lot due to her personality and how she was portrayed. There are also some great moments of her with the main protagonist V.
Can explore all of it further in case CDPR announces a separate DLC for her as well.
