Ceb is back in action as he returns to his former Dota 2 team OG. The two-time The International champion is back to position 3.
Sebastien “Ceb” Debs returning to the scene meant that OG is letting go of Syed “Sumail” Hassan. OG announced the change of roster on their website.
OG stated the reason why Ceb returned to the scene. According to their statement, Ceb “started to miss (the game) so much.”
“I honestly kinda take offense in the simple fact that other teams think that they can beat us,” said Ceb on his return to the competitive scene.
The cold-headed offlane player of a lifetime, the unmatched starving will of OG and chatwheel god @Ceb is back.🌻

Flowers and friendship wins this time
Ceb admitted that he missed playing with his friends. OG was known for a roster that is focused on friendship. Thus, it is fitting to see the offlaner return to the team.
“I actually missed them a lot. We’ve been through everything together. Every game they play in which I’m not playing felt like a waste of my time. I enjoy playing with them more than anything else,” said Ceb.
The player used to coach OG back from 2016 to 2017. A major reshuffle happened with the team and Ceb was called in to play in 2018.
It was unexpected as he was not considered a top-tier player mechanically back then. However, it was proven to be the best direction the team has done.
OG went on to win The International 8 of the said year. Last year, they did the impossible and won The International 9. It is the first time that Dota 2 team won the tournament twice and with the same roster.
Coronavirus and timezone differences sparked the roster change
There are speculations that the coronavirus affected the roster. OG is based in Europe while Sumail is currently in North America. Thus, OG has been playing with stand-ins whenever Sumail is not available.
Playing with the TI5 champion causes ping and latency issues. This means that the team could not blend properly. Current travel restrictions also do not allow Sumail to fly and stay with the team.
However, these are pure speculations. OG has not clarified the main reason why Sumail left. The only announcement they made is he is leaving and Ceb will return.
OG reshuffling positions as Ceb returns
The OG roster before Ceb’s return consists of the following:
- Sumail – Carry
- Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen – Mid
- Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng – Offlane
- Martin “Saksa” Sazdov – Support
- Johan “NoTail” Sundstein – Support
But with Ceb returning, the team will shuffle the positions. The current OG roster will be:
- MidOne – Carry
- Topson – Mid
- Ceb – Offlane
- Saksa – Support
- NoTail – Support
The lineup brings MidOne in a better position. He previously played on Team Secret as a mid-player. This position is very similar to his position now.
Meanwhile, Ceb is a genius when it comes to playing offlane heroes. Think of it as both players staying in their natural habitat.
Today, we would also like to thank @SumaaaaiL for his time with OG, we wish him the best of luck for what will come next for him.
He is one of the best players in the world and a fantastic person to work with, we will miss him.#DreamOG pic.twitter.com/oVvpwUJpDO

New OG roster in action tomorrow
The updated OG roster will be joining the DotaPit tournament today. It will be a chance to see how the new team performs.
This will be the tournament where Ceb can prove that he is still the best offlane player in Dota 2. Surely, other teams will keep an eye on him as well.
