Some celebrities brought their pajamas and nighttime looks at this year’s Emmys.
The Primetime Emmy Awards took a different turn this year. Amid the pandemic crisis, the producers announced that the celebrities would not come to the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles for the award’s night.
Based on the official statements, the show would take place virtually. Nevertheless, they ensured that it would become the TV industry’s “biggest night out.”
Celebrities should “make an effort” in their dress code
In terms of the dress code, the actors and actresses had to come as they are, but should “make an effort.” Earlier this month, though, sources told Us Weekly that several stars had confirmed to wear their pajamas.
Following the event on Sunday night, People listed some of the personalities who took their pajama look to another level.
Jennifer Aniston made two different appearances on the night of the event. She wore a black slip dress as she helped Jimmy Kimmel to open the show.
Following the clip, the Emmy nominee “returned home” and changed her attire into a more “comfortable” apparel. The Friends actress is one of the celebrities who opted to wear her nighttime clothing.
The publication said that she wore a “silky embroidered robe” during the rest of the event. In completing the look, she partnered the robe with her “wreath-style necklace.”
Jennifer Aniston received a nomination for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama category for her role on The Morning Show. Zendaya, however, won the award and became the youngest actress to bag the honor.
Gabrielle Union made a special appearance on the night of the Emmys this year. She appeared via webcam, live from her bathroom, according to Allure.
While her thoughts about HBO’s Insecure became one of the show’s highlights, the Bring It On actress was one of the celebrities who caught the attention of many because of her clothing. Based on photos and clips, the actress wore a “fuzzy white robe” and a “shower cap,” which complemented her bathroom.
Aside from her “eye-catching apparel,” though, her husband, Dwyane Wade’s cameo also became a treat to the audience.
In celebrating The Good Place‘s Tahani Al-Jamil night, actress Jameela Jamil wore her sequin “dressing gown” without her undergarments. She also posted a photo of her look on Instagram, noting that “wearing PJ’s” to this year’s Emmy Awards is her “kind of vibes.”

No bra? No heels? NO PROBLEM. Wearing PJ’s to the 72nd Emmy awards (from my house) is my kind of vibes. Excited to see if we win any of the 7 awards we have been nominated for!!!! I still did my make up and wore a sequin dressing gown, because… It’s what Tahani would have wanted. And this is her day, not mine. ❤️
This is “what Tahani would have wanted.” It is her day, “not mine,” Jamil said. Other celebrities who also brought their “PJs” and nightwears on the Emmys include Jane Lynch, Rachel Brosnahan, Mark Duplass, and Samira Wiley.
