Chadwick Boseman surprised the whole world when his heartbreaking death was announced on Friday night. The Black Panther star died at 43.
The announcement of Boseman’s death
His rep revealed that Chadwick Boseman passed away at his home, surrounded by his wife and family on Aug. 28. He died due to colon cancer that he battled for four years before succumbing to it.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the statement reads on the actor’s own Instagram page. “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.”
The Boseman family also shared that he was a real fighter because he persevered and continued to make movies despite his illness.
They said that Chadwick worked on many movies that were all filmed while he was undergoing chemotherapy and numerous surgeries.
The family of the Black Panther star then thanked everyone for the love and prayers they sent. Lastly, they also asked everyone to continue respecting their privacy at this difficult time.

Hollywood mourns the passing of Chadwick Boseman
One of the first people to react to Chadwick Boseman’s death was Marvel Studios president and chief creative officer Kevin Page.
“Chadwick’s passing is absolutely devastating,” Variety quoted Page as saying in a statement. “He was our T’Challa, our Black Panther, and our dear friend.”
“Each time he stepped on set, he radiated charisma and joy, and each time he appeared on screen, he created something truly indelible,” he added. “The Marvel Studios family deeply mourns his loss, and we are grieving tonight with his family.”
Via Instagram, Jamie Foxx expressed his sadness over Chadwick Boseman’s passing.
“Please Jesus, please…I know you know what’s best… but at this moment our hearts are writhing with so much pain,” he wrote. “So to lose this beautiful black king renders me weak…please watch over his family and loved ones.”

Chris Evans posted two photos of him and Boseman on Twitter and said that he is “absolutely devastated” and his friend’s passing is beyond heartbreaking. Evans went on to say that Chadwick was special and he is grateful to their friendship.
In any case, Oprah, Mark Ruffalo, Brie Larson, Zoe Zaldana, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dwayne Johnson and even political figures like Joe Biden and Kamal Harris have posted messages and condolences for Chadwick Boseman’s death.
A number of NBA players also react and used social media to share their thoughts and feelings on the Black Panther star’s heart-rending demise.
