Cher is, reportedly, on her death bed and is dying due to a rare disease.
One tabloid published a report with a headline that read “Sick Cher Knocking On Heaven’s Door.” The outlet alleged that the iconic singer is ill and dying soon.
Cher dying due to illness
Globe claimed that Cher was “scarily ill, having trouble breathing, and can’t get out of bed.”
According to the report, Cher has been dealing with the Epstein-Barr virus since the 1980s. It reportedly left her “depressed” and “bedridden” for months. Also, it allegedly “wreaked havoc on her kidneys and heart.”
“People who suffer from chronic fatigue can keep that disease for the rest of their lives,” the report read and concluded that Cher is dying and may not live much longer.
According to MSN, Globe also published a similar story in November. The outlet alleged that Cher was “struggling every day to find the strength to carry on.”
“She’s in the grips of the devastating Epstein-Barr virus and it’s difficult to get out of bed sometimes,” the unnamed source said.
Rumor debunk
Gossip Cop debunks the claim that Cher is dying.
Cher’s rep denied the rumor outright.
Also, it is not true that the Strong Enough hitmaker is bedridden. In fact, a few days back, she shared snaps of herself on Twitter, and she doesn’t look sick at all.

Furthermore, Cher released a new song last month for the UNICEF Won’t Stop virtual special. If she was sick, she could not have recorded the song.
Prior to the event, Cher said she was very excited to drop the song with UNICEF because she is a huge fan of the organization.
“I am so proud to premiere this new version during the broadcast of UNICEF Won’t Stop,” Cher said.
“I’ve long admired UNICEF, especially for their work with young women since I was a little girl. Now, more than ever, it’s critical that we prioritize every child around the world as if they were our own.”
Cher has been managing Epstein-Barr
The publication confirmed that Cher contracted the Epstein-Barr virus. However, she had been managing it since her diagnosis a decade ago.
It was not an easy battle for Cher at the start, according to previous reports.
“I got really sick,” she tells the New York Times (via Hollywood.com). “For two years, I couldn’t work. It was terrible. I ended the second year with pneumonia.
“All these movie offers were coming in, but I had to turn them all down. I was really, really upset about it. And when I came back, I had to work my way back up from the beginning – doing concerts and stuff like that.”
Despite that, Cher is showing no sign of slowing down. At present, she is in excellent health and continues to work on her music.
