According to IGN, cinematographer Gregory Middleton, who’s working on the Moon Knight series, recently shared this big news on his Instagram. In the post, while telling about his work on the title, he seemingly revealed Oscar Isaac’s casting in the MCU show!
“Well, the secret is out,” Middleton wrote in his post.
Here’s what he precisely said about the show and actor Oscar Isaac’s casting:
“It’s an honor to be a part of introducing a new character to the MCU #MoonKnight. Who says cinematographers worry about white costumes! … not if they are complex characters played by an amazing performer like @officialoscarrisaac. Thank you, director Mohamed Diab and the #mcu, for inviting me aboard.”
Now, it’s confirmed that the Dune actor is playing a crucial role in the highly-anticipated Marvel show.
Moon Knight: Early series details
Although, as they always do, both Marvel and Disney haven’t confirmed anything regarding the casting. But it’s now nearly confirmed that Isaac is playing an essential part in the series. And it may be the case that he might be the protagonist himself!
The moment he gets announced in the Moon Knight series by Kevin Feige, Oscar Isaac will become one of the few actors who have been a part of both the MCU and Fox’s X-Men franchise. The actor previously portrayed the role of a supervillain in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Bryan Singer was the director of that film.
Speaking of the Disney Plus show, the actor will debut under the Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab’s direction.
The story will follow Spector, a former soldier with an immense fortune. He encounters the Egyptian god of vengeance and moon deity, Khushu, who inspires him to become a costumed vigilante.
The show was announced in August 2019 during the D23 event. Previously, there was a possibility of the series’ early completion in terms of filming. But due to COVID-19 and its vast impact, it was delayed along with many other upcoming Marvel TV shows.
Upcoming MCU titles in next phases
Meanwhile, apart from the Oscar Isaac starrer series, there are many other exciting projects as well, coming soon. Marvel Studios is already busy with movies and shows to arrive in the next phases of the MCU.
Next week will see the beginning of Phase four, eventually, with the premiere of WandaVision. The Elizabeth Olsen-Paul Bettany show will have nine episodes. After that, in March, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will come to Disney’s streaming service. Then the first movie in the new phase, Black Widow, will also be released in May. It means back-to-back entertainment for all the fans. The streak will continue with movies like Shang-Chi, Eternals, Spider-Man 3, and other future entries.
Coming back to Moon Knight, the series is yet to get a release date.
