It will be a while before Cobra Kai viewers learn of Miguel’s fate but a new teaser hints of some bad news about Johnny’s student.
Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) was fighting for his life at the end of Cobra Kai season 2, leaving Johnny (William Zabka) to give up the dojo and reassess his future. Viewers will recall that Miguel had a nasty fall following that riot in his school.
Fans are hopeful Miguel will heal in the third season, but a teaser from the show’s official Twitter account seems to suggest otherwise. In 2019, after the filming wrapped up, Maridueña told fans on Twitter that he’s still returning to the show. But then it’s entirely possible he’s only going to show up because he’s filming his final scene: his death.

Robby vs. Miguel, Robby, and Johnny
However, Cobra Kai fans think that Miguel has to stay on because of his rivalry with Robby (Tanner Buchanan) is one of the biggest pulls of the series. He needs to get his revenge and raise the flag of his dojo.
Speculations are that the third season opener might show Miguel about to die. However, in a dramatic twist, he will be revived, and he will survive his ordeal.
Buchanan, on the other hand, thinks that there’s another relationship that will be the focus of the third season.
“I’d love to see Robby and Johnny to mend their relationship and really truly connect,” the actor told Glamour. The actor is rooting for his character to succeed after so many disappointments, but he also said that Robby is still in a lot of trouble for sending Miguel to the hospital.
The return of Ali
Meanwhile, older fans of the series from the time of the Karate Kid expect the return of Ali (Elizabeth Shue). Zabka spoke with Comic Book about this but did not confirm if they’ve signed on the actress.
Zabka said that as much as Ali has been a big part of his character’s life, there’s still plenty of unpredictability to the series. He hinted that there will be reconnection “in some form.”
What is certain, however, is that Cobra Kai season 3 will be on Netflix in 2021. Jon Hurwitz, the show’s creator, revealed on Twitter that they’re done filming and the upcoming season is in the editing room.
