Leading crypto market data aggregator CoinMarketCap is hosting its first-ever large scale cryptocurrency and blockchain conference next week in Singapore.
The inaugural conference, dubbed The Capital, is being held at the Victoria Theatre in Singapore from November 12 – 13 and will focus on “crypto-asset adoption, liquidity, and discovery, driving the next phase of growth in the industry.”
The Capital organizers have lined up a veritable who’s who of experts and industry leaders from around the world for a series of keynotes, panel discussions, and fireside chats, and more.
First announced in August, the excitement surrounding the event has been building steadily ever since.
“We are floored by the support and enthusiasm that we have had from all parts of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem for an honest, accessible conference focused on adoption and liquidity,” said Spencer Yang, CoinMarketCap’s VP of Special Projects.
Free admission with ‘Proof of Work’
Unlike other major crypto and blockchain conferences, admission to The Capital will be free with ‘proof of work’.
According to the event website, attendees will have to answer five questions along with a personality questionnaire (hence ‘proof of work’). They will be sorted into four different crypto profiles and will receive physical pins at the registration counter.
“We made event tickets free for all so that anyone who wants to learn will be able to do so with no barriers to their education,” Yang explained.
Hidden figures revealed
Two of the more reclusive and enigmatic figures in the crypto and blockchain space will be taking the stage for the first time at The Capital.
CoinMarketCap founder Brandon Chez and Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm creator Sunny King will be taking part in an “eye-opening dialogue.”
King is also the founder of Primecoin, Peercoin, and VSYS.
Other notable speakers at the event include:
- Changpeng “CZ” Zhao – Founder & CEO, Binance
- Jennifer Ilkiw – Vice President, Asia Pacific, Intercontinental Exchange Inc.
- Livio Weng – CEO, Huobi Global
- Jeremy Allaire – Co-founder & CEO, Circle
- Robert Viglione – Co-founder & CEO, Horizen
