Get ready to follow the beer-making adventure of two estranged brothers who ended up running a brewery together.
Created by brothers Greg Schaffer (That’s 70s Show) and Jeff Schaffer (The League), Brews Brothers will premiere on Friday, April 10 on Netflix. The highly anticipated comedy series is among the latest of the streaming content provider’s original program offerings.
The show will be available to stream worldwide and will have a total of eight episodes in season one with an approximate run time of 25 to 30 minutes for each episode.
What to expect from the series?
As seen in the trailer, Brews Brothers is expected to be packed with crazy antics inside and outside of the brewery. It also gave away the fact that it is an R-rated show due to its content with alcohol, drugs, sexual references, and crude language.
The first noted guest star here is German actor-comedian Flula Borg, who appeared in the trailer swinging around by a rope.
The plot revolves around two brothers, Wilhem and Adam Rodman, who are both beer geniuses. But, the challenge here is that they have very different beer-making techniques and personalities that hinder them from having a smooth-flowing partnership in operating Rodman’s, a brewery in Van Nuys, California.
According to the show’s official synopsis:
“A lot of times in a show you see two people who complete each other. These two don’t even make a full person.”
Who are the cast?
The lead roles Wilhelm and Adam are played by Alan Aisenberg (Orange Is The New Black) and Mike Castle (Grace and Frankie) respectively. They are also joined by Carmen Flood (Dog) who plays the role of Sarah and Marques Ray (Dr. Ken) who plays the role of Chuy.
Other cast members are Zach Reino, Inanna Sarkis, Braxton Herda, Cameron James McIntyre, and William Samiri.
Greg Schaffer is the showrunner of the series, as well as the executive producer and writer. Meanwhile, Jeff Schaffer is only an executive producer.
Should viewers expect a second season?
Even though it has not premiered yet, there are shows that are working on a second run already. Considering Brews Brothers has only eight episodes, it’s a question whether Netflix Originals has already signaled a green light for a second season. As of now, the online streaming platform has yet to announce whether they will cancel or renew the series.
