Fans of Netflix’s upcoming The Witcher 2 will have to wait longer than expected. It could be delayed indefinitely due to lockdown.
According to Dualshockers, The Witcher 2 could see an extended delay following another lockdown due to rising cases of COVID-19. Plus, its lead actor Henry Cavill also got injured recently. He hurt his leg last month. And now it seems like the entire production will suffer a lot after these events. It might take an unexpected time in its overall completion.
The show’s shooting is in the UK, which is going through a new round of lockdown. Following an increase of Coronavirus cases, the authorities have imposed restrictions once again.
“The Witcher 2”: Early series details
In his recent Instagram post, actor Henry Cavill shared the news that currently, he’s in rehab. He’s trying to get his leg normal again. Moreover, he wrote that times are “are rough during the morning, but I do always get to see the dawn by the time I’m finishing up.”
The Witcher 2 will bring back Cavill in his iconic role of Geralt of Rivia. Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan will also reprise their roles of Yennefer and Ciri, respectively. However, after the pandemic hit the second installment production, things have gone out of control for the entire team. Even if Cavill can get his leg in standard shape again, the lockdown situation will still prevail because the United Kingdom cases are increasing rapidly. The new variant of the virus has caused new rounds of restrictions in the region. And thus, the set location will also go through that phase of “no activity.”
It seems like the hit Netflix series fans will have to wait longer than expected to witness The Witcher 2 series on their devices.
