‘Crash Bandicoot 4’ heads to PS4 and Xbox One, gameplay revealed

After a long wait, Crash Bandicoot 4 is finally arriving in PS4 and Xbox One this year. Moreover, the trailer teases of new gameplay and new worlds.

Since the release of Crash Bandicoot: Warped in 1998, fans have been waiting for a long time for Toys for Bob’s new Bandicoot game. The earlier works of Toys for Bob include Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Although the previous versions were remasters of the original Crash Trilogy, the latest Crash game is not a remaster. The upcoming game, fittingly titled, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a brand new game in its own right.

Crash Bandicoot 4 trailer reveals new gameplay

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a true sequel to the Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Thus, the fourth game installment will immediately follow the events from the Warped, after the defeat of Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka.

Crash Bandicoot 4 will have new gameplay, as shown in the recently released trailer. The trailer revealed the main character, Crash Bandicoot spinning and jumping his way through the enemies. Also, the trailer showed new worlds where Crash Bandicoot will venture to the deepest oceans and the bottomless pits to collect Wumpa fruits.

Players will experience whole new gameplay too. The games’ characters have new abilities such as wall-running, rope swinging, and rail grinding. Toys for Bob also added an exciting game mechanic, where the characters can run on the ceiling or slow down the time.

The trailer also revealed the return of Neo Cortex, who is now completely fired up to defeat the game’s protagonists. Hence, it will be interesting to see Neo Cortex’s latest upgrades.

What is Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time all about

In Crash Bandicoot: Warped, the villains, Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka were left stranded on a far-away planet. Once again, they escaped to wreak havoc and to destroy Crash Bandicoot, and Coco Bandicoot.

Paul Yan, co-studio head at Toys for Bob, revealed a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming game. He said:

“We deliberately called this game Crash 4 because we want to position this as a true sequel to the original three games, which were developed by Naughty Dog.”

He further stated:

Crash Bandicoot 4’s story will involve Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka ripping a hole in the fabric of space-time in order to escape from their remote planet. Coco and Crash will push back against that villainy “with the help of four new quantum masks.”

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time release date

The Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time game will finally arrive this coming October 2, 2020, and with a hefty tag of $59.99.
