The Microsoft Store included an in-app purchases feature for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. However, Toys for Bob recently clarified that there would be no microtransactions in the game.
The in-app purchases created a chain of discussion among the players on whether the game will have microtransactions at launch. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is still months away from hitting the shelves. However, fans are already looking forward to its release. The game is not a remaster of the original Crash Trilogy but is a brand new game.
Toys for Bob addressed the issues on Twitter
Crash Bandicoot developer Toys for Bob addressed the issue on Twitter. He said:
“We’re seeing confusion about #MTX in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and want to be [gem emoji] clear. There are NO MICROTRANSACTIONS in the game. As a bonus, the Totally Tubular skins are included in all digital versions of the game.”
Players have raised the issue because it’s not yet clear how they will go about the purchase. Furthermore, the microtransactions were previously added to Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled in 2019. With the microtransaction feature, players were able to buy Wumpa Coins using real-world money.

Other players think that the in-app purchases indicate microtransactions for a DLC or a cosmetic. However, Toys for Bob confirmed that all digital versions of the game would include free “Totally Tubular” cosmetic skins as a bonus.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has classic and modern vibes
Initially released by Naughty Dog, Crash Bandicoot is well remembered for its intricate gameplay and a great sense of humor. Now, Toys for Bob is retaining some of the game’s best features, while incorporating modern game mechanics.
In the recently released trailer, Crash Bandicoot 4 offers players exciting new worlds. Crash Bandicoot will venture to the deepest oceans and the bottomless pits to collect Wumpa fruits. Furthermore, players will experience new gameplay that adds a 2020 vibe instead of 1998. There will be new abilities such as wall-running, rope swinging, and rail grinding.

An interesting addition to the game’s feature is the Quantum Mask. When worn, the mask gives the ability to slow down time and to get past impossible timing obstacles.
Furthermore, Paul Yan, co-studio head at Toys for Bob, mentioned another interesting feature, the gravity-themed quantum mask. The mask will give “Crash the ability to flip gravity and control it so that he can walk upside down on platforms.”
