‘Creed 2’s’ Florian Munteanu joins ‘Borderlands’ movie

After impressing everyone as Victor Drago in Creed 2, Florian Munteanu will join the Borderlands movie cast as Krieg!

The actor recently became the newest cast member of the Borderlands movie. The big-screen adaptation of the popular gaming title will see Florian Munteanu portraying the role of Krieg.

The project is now in the pre-production stage.

‘Borderlands’ movie early details

Speaking of Florian Munteanu, he’s known for Victor Drago’s character in the sequel to the first Creed film.

Krieg, the role that he will play in the Borderlands movie, is one of the six playable characters in the games. He was part of the second installment’s Psycho class.

After the actor joined the project, director Eli Roth expressed his happiness. In his statement, he said:

“Florian brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character who on the surface seems totally insane and brutally savage.”

“Krieg was by far the most difficult role to cast, and Florian brought him to life and grounded him in a way that I didn’t know was possible. He’s going to be a brilliant Krieg and will fit in perfectly with our incredible cast.”

The gaming character comes from a bandit family. In his early years, he was maltreated by his mother because he was weaker than the others. As a result of this, he was fueled by the urge to grow stronger in physical strength.

But eventually, it was Dr. Benedict who made him Krieg in the second part of the gaming series.

The extensive list of actors on Borderlands film includes Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Tannis, and Jack Black as Claptrap. Kevin Hart as a mercenary and Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina will also play a key role.

More video game adaptations are coming!

When it comes to game-to-live action versions, it is the best time, perhaps, for every major title.

Almost every big video game is ready to entertain the viewers, either in a TV series or movie.

Talking about the upcoming projects, then next month itself will see the release of the Mortal Kombat film.

Then there is Without Remorse, starring Michael B. Jordan and recently revealed its trailer. Paramount’s two future adaptations are based on Tom Clancy’s books Rainbow Six and Without Remorse.

Tom Holland’s Uncharted, Minecraft, and Alicia Vikander’s Tomb Raider 2 are set to arrive soon as well.

Cyberpunk 2077 will also get an anime series based on it, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It’s in production at Netflix and expected to make a debut next year.

Moreover, there is a Fallout TV series coming soon as well on Amazon. Its producers are Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, known for making Westworld.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s The Division film is also set to launch in the next few years.

Coming back to Borderlands, again, its release date is yet to be announced.
